Eve

I’m too certain that more than anyone of us  afterwards Eve was the sole benefactor of all the love and joy that could be known through having a loving intimate relationship with the Most High Himself, and the best husband ever. So perfect, no flaws, loving his wife passionately and together with her loving God passionately.

Then suddenly, like a whiff of perfume past one’s nostrils, it all passes away, it becomes like just a folktale. It is so heartbreaking for Eve to know that she’ll always be responsible for making the wrong choice. Her offsprings for generations to come would always point their fingers accusingly at her. “What was she thinking?” some might say. But we fail to view the abrupt changes that occurred in Eve’s life without warning.

The fact that the feeling of contentment, peace, joy, freeness, aliveness and love that had always existed right from the moment she took her first breath was all gone. Instead there was this uncertainty, this battle between good and evil. Her perfect Adam was suddenly so much less than perfect, not understanding her and her needs anymore. She had to learn to live with his flaws even as he learnt to live with hers. But having a greater burden of knowing that she gave their perfect life away with open eyes.

Now Eve must open her eyes beyond the hurts, the pains, the regrets, the accusing fingers, she must run into the waiting arms of God as he makes skins coats of healing for her, she must open her heart to Him as He covers her shame and kisses her wounds, she must look beyond the harm done and her bruised heart to the pierced hands of Jesus. She must see the magnitude of His everlasting love for her. She must perceive and fully understand the power in the blood of Jesus, she must hear their firm cries as they flowed out from his veins;”I’ve paid the price”,” I’ve restored you to something even greater than what you had before”, beyond just being a living soul you’re now a life giving Spirit. Please accept my verdict, I have cleansed you, I have made you whole, by my stripes you’ve been healed. I love you; look into my eyes without fear, dread, regret or condemnation. See my intense love for you. Truly my beloved, I love you deeply.
