THE EARNEST CONTENDERS FOR THE FAITH ARE GREATER THAN NABOTH THE JEZREELITE!

Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints. Jude 3. Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless. (2 Peter 3:14).

“…the diligent man’s hand makes rich; …shall bear rule. His substance is precious; his soul shall be made fat. His thoughts tend only to plenteousness. …he shall stand before kings….”  (Prov 10:4-5, Prov 12:24, Prov 12:27, Prov 13:4, Prov 21:5, Prov 22:29)

Of recent, my thought has been racing around why the dart of political ideology among youths. I dared facing the music and called a spade a spade; I admitted how I myself was not in any way different or exceptional by any inch from the political ideological deficient and bereaved bunches.  In addition, I won’t hide under the cloak of church to ease my conscience and dismiss the thought by judging that I probably don’t need to be in public service and as such need not border myself with such stuff. Right away I feel how life threatening is the yielding to such a temptation. I rather admit my deficiency and make every effort to add diligence to my faith than die prematurely. Yes, I feel we will die, if we sit here this day. If we sit here holding on to the faith without developing ourselves on it. I judge so having read the biography of Naboth the Jezreelite.

I don’t know how old Mr Naboth was but I know he was murdered for his life ideology…

I overly admire Naboth for his life ideology and how he won’t trade it for anything rather he speaks to even kings; “The LORD forbids it me, that I should give the inheritance of my fathers unto thee” (1 Kings 21:3 KJV).  But my Lord Jesus Christ exceedingly out shined him (Naboth) in my admiration for a personality with life ideology who did not only owned and tended such life but also readily stakes his life for the defence of such stand: ”… Christ Jesus, who before Pontius Pilate witnessed a good confession…”  (1 Tim 6:13-14 KJV). I don’t know how old Mr Naboth was but I know he was murdered for his life ideology; Christ was also murdered but at the fullness of his years as it is written of Him. Christ “who in the days of his flesh, when he had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from (premature) death, and was heard in that he feared….” (Heb 5:7 KJV and AMP). “… I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me) to do thy will, O God” (Heb 10:7 KJV).

I am not qualify to dare judge Elder Naboth, a man with fierce look, stunt ideology and an unbeatable courage, to be less diligent in developing himself on the most holy faith he confessed in order to garner wisdom on how to deal with men who are without. Behold Christ on this matter of dealing with political matters: “And when Herod saw Jesus, he was exceeding glad…he hoped to have seen some miracle done by him …but he answered him nothing. And Herod … set him at nought, and mocked him, and arrayed him in a gorgeous robe, and sent him again to Pilate (Luke 23:8-11 KJV). Having sent people to Herod earlier: “And he said unto them, Go ye, and tell that fox, Behold, I cast out devils, and I do cures today and tomorrow, and the third day I shall be perfected. Nevertheless I must walk today, and tomorrow, and the day following: for it cannot be that a prophet perish out of Jerusalem” (Luke 13:32-33 KJV).

I feel Mr Naboth didn’t handle his dealings with the king Ahab the way my Lord treated Herod. I acknowledge we must all contend for the inheritance of our fathers- faith- but must be done in an EARNEST WAY not frivolously. We must harness all graces from the Lord Jesus; His word must dwell in us richly in all wisdom.

I actually write to call our attention to the fact that we must of a necessity live our lives fully; participating in all spheres of life’s endeavours especially politics and governance. If this is the case, then we must do that with a well-developed faith life. A life owe to the faith and offered to earnestly contend for the faith.  A soul made fat with correct political ideology and outstanding smartness against the wiles of the wicked men. We can’t fold our hands and demonstrate holiness in the four wall of the church.

We will submit to the Holy Spirit to help us develop ourselves. We will lead a righteous life yet live the fullness of our days. We will by faith subdue kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtain promises, stop the mouths of lions, Quench the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, be made strong, waxed valiant in fight, turn to flight the armies of the aliens.
